Portugal and Finland discuss international developments
Helsinki, October 5 (Hibya) - Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel met with President Alexander Stubb as part of his official visit to Finland. The meeting addressed the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, as well as the effects of the digital revolution and artificial intelligence on democracies.
According to a statement from Portugal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel was received by Finnish President Alexander Stubb at the end of his official visit to Finland.
During the meeting, the international agenda was reviewed, with discussions covering the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East as well as the challenges posed by the digital revolution and artificial intelligence to liberal democracies.
The statement said Portugal and Finland share a common perspective on Europe’s capacity to respond to threats in the fields of security and technological innovation, as well as on multilateralism and the primacy of international law in the global order.
