Pavel: NATO is a confirmation of our commitment to stand by one another
Prague, April 4 (Hibya) – Czech President Petr Pavel stated that NATO is not just an agreement, but also a confirmation of mutual trust, a commitment to share the burden of collective defense, and to stand by one another even when things get tough.
President Pavel said that when the Czech Republic joined NATO at the end of the millennium, he knew they were joining a community that takes security seriously.
He added: “I still see that today. NATO is not just a treaty – it is a confirmation of mutual trust, of the commitment to share the burden of collective defense, and to stand by one another even in difficult times; and that has been the case for seventy-six years.”
