Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Varsen Shaheen received WFP Acting Executive Director Carl Skau, WFP Palestine Country Director Sean Nicholas Hughes, and the accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, the economic, health, and humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, as well as the activities carried out by the World Food Programme in the region, were reviewed.

Minister Shaheen expressed appreciation for the World Food Programme’s efforts under the current circumstances and thanked the organization for the food assistance and development support provided to the Palestinian people. She also highlighted the importance of coordination between relevant Palestinian institutions and the WFP to continue life-saving efforts and strengthen Palestinian resilience.

Shaheen further emphasized the need to preserve the role of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), stressing the importance of ensuring that institutional efforts complement one another.

Carl Skau provided an update on the World Food Programme’s activities in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. He noted that food security in the region continues to deteriorate and that health and sanitation systems in Gaza remain fragile.

Skau stated that the WFP, together with its partners, will continue implementing food and development programs in Gaza, aiming to support Palestinians’ living conditions and enhance their resilience.

Palestinian Deputy Foreign Minister Omar Awadallah also attended the meeting.
