Ramallah, April 11 (Hibya) – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed the adoption by the UNESCO Executive Board, during its 221st session held today in Paris, of a third decision titled "Effects and Consequences of the Current Situation in Gaza", covering all areas of UNESCO's mandate.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed the adoption by the UNESCO Executive Board, at its 221st session in Paris today, of a third decision titled "Effects and Consequences of the Current Situation in Gaza", which addresses the situation’s impact across all of UNESCO's areas of work.
The Ministry emphasized the importance of these decisions for the protection of Palestinian rights, especially considering the crimes committed by Israel as an illegal occupying power since the 1948 Nakba, including the genocide process in Gaza, violations in education, UNRWA’s inability to provide essential services in the occupied Palestinian territories, and the disregard for international law, UNESCO provisions, rulings of the International Court of Justice, and General Assembly resolutions.
