The Palestinian Foreign Ministry reacted strongly to statements by US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee asserting that “Israel has a biblical right over the entire Middle East from the Nile to the Euphrates.”

The ministry stated that these remarks contradict religious and historical facts as well as international law, and also run counter to US President Donald Trump’s statements rejecting the annexation of the West Bank.

The statement emphasized that such provocative and unacceptable remarks amount to an explicit call to violate the sovereignty of states and provide support for the continuation of occupation policies, including what it described as a genocidal war and forced displacement, as well as annexation and racist expansion plans against the Palestinian people.

It added that the international community fully rejects such positions and affirms that the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, are occupied Palestinian territories under international law.

The ministry also called on the US administration to take a clear and explicit position regarding its ambassador’s statements in Israel.
