The STOXX 600 index remained broadly flat at 656.41 points.
In Germany, the DAX closed unchanged at 26,285.96 points, while France’s CAC 40 also ended the day unchanged at 8,462.39 points.
In the United Kingdom, the FTSE 100 index fell 0.07 percent to 10,878.12 points.
In Italy, the FTSE MIB index rose 0.31 percent to 52,882.99 points.
