Metsola: Europe remains committed to peace and stability
Brussels, March 24 (Hibya) - European Parliament President Roberta Metsola met with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Barham Salih and ambassadors of Gulf countries.
European Parliament President Metsola held a meeting with UNHCR Commissioner Barham Salih.
Metsola stated that the crisis in the Middle East and the humanitarian impacts of the war in Ukraine were discussed during the meeting, adding that she later met with ambassadors of the Gulf Cooperation Council following Iran’s recent attacks on Gulf countries.
Thanking the efforts to evacuate European citizens, Metsola said: “Europe remains committed to finding a path to restore peace, freedom, and stability.”
