Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

Ireland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Harris stated that they are aware of the pressure on citizens.

Expressing that many people are concerned about the impact of the conflict in the Middle East on energy bills, Harris said: “For this reason, the government has agreed on temporary and targeted measures that will take effect immediately. These measures are balanced and proportionate steps that respond to the urgent challenges people are facing.”

As part of the decisions taken, Harris announced tax reductions on fuel, stating: “There will be a tax cut of 15 cents per liter on petrol, 20 cents on diesel, and 3 cents on agricultural diesel. These reductions will take effect from midnight tonight and will remain in force until May 31, 2026.”

Referring to the economic impacts of the conflict, Harris said: “The impact of this crisis will depend on the duration and depth of the conflict. In the best-case scenario, we may see a rapid resolution and normalization in energy supply; in the worst-case scenario, we could face a prolonged crisis.”

Emphasizing that Ireland is in a strong economic position, Harris added: “Thanks to the budget surplus, we are able to take decisive steps today. We are ready to adjust our approach if necessary. We are acting now to support those who need it most.”
