Meloni: our government is becoming the longest-serving in the history of the Italian Republic
Rome, September 4 (Eylül) – Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced that her government has become the longest-serving government in the history of the Italian Republic. Meloni said stability is important not so much as a record, but because it enables the country to plan for its future and fulfill the promises that have been made.
Meloni said in a statement, “Today our government becomes the longest-serving government in the history of the Italian Republic.” Saying that she welcomed the development “with gratitude and a strong sense of responsibility,” Meloni stated that the government is working to increase employment, reduce unemployment, support families and businesses, strengthen security and manage public finances.
Meloni also pointed out that the three longest-serving governments in the history of the Republic were all center-right governments, arguing that stability can be achieved through alliances built around shared values, goals and a common vision for the country.
At the end of her statement, Meloni said the work continues and announced that she would meet supporters of the Brothers of Italy (Fratelli d’Italia) party in Bari.
