Meloni: Europe approves new step in migrant return rules
Rome, March 26 (Hibya) - Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni described the European Parliament’s approval of new return regulations as a step toward a more effective European migration policy.
Meloni said, “With Parliament approving the new return rules, Europe is finally moving in the right direction; as Italy, we have strongly supported this path.”
Meloni stated that with the new regulations, “through return centers, determining which country irregular migrants will be sent to will be expanded to include not only countries of origin but also third countries.”
The Prime Minister emphasized that this is “an important step in making returns more effective, strengthening border control, and providing Europe with a more credible migration policy.”
