Macron: The wound of October 7 opened by Hamas’ barbarity is beginning to heal
Paris, January 28 (Hibya) – French President Emmanuel Macron said following the burial of Israeli captive Ran Gvili, “We will never forget the memory of the victims of October 7, 2023.”
French President Macron issued a statement after the remains of Israeli captive Ran Gvili were laid to rest in Israel.
Macron said in his statement: “My thoughts are with his family, loved ones, and with all the people of Israel, who today can begin to heal the wound of October 7, 2023, opened by Hamas’ barbarity.” Emphasizing that the memory of those who lost their lives on that day will never be forgotten, Macron added: “We will never forget the memory and remembrance of the victims of that dark day.”
Macron noted that this development marks the beginning of a new phase in the peace plan envisioned for Gaza, stating that the plan aims to enable the Palestinian and Israeli peoples to live in lasting security. He added that this particularly requires “the disarmament of Hamas.”
Stating that France will assume responsibility in this process, Macron said: “France, together with its partners, will fulfill all its responsibilities in this process.”
