French President Emmanuel Macron stated that the country was mourning following the terrorist attack in Trappes and La Verrière. Macron said the racist nature of the attack marked a significant turning point for France.

In a statement shared on social media, Macron reported that Pengo Bossio Wangi had lost his life in the attack and that five people had been seriously injured. President Macron noted that a young girl fighting for her life was among the injured, emphasizing the need to show support, compassion and solidarity with the victims and their families.

Following the attack, Macron reiterated his call for support for all victims and their families.

President Macron highlighted the importance of preserving France's unity and social cohesion, stating that the country would fight racism, antisemitism and all forms of hatred and discrimination based on religion or skin color.
