Lula shared various figures on full-time education, federal institutes, higher education, school dropout rates and digital education infrastructure, stressing the need to increase investment in education.

Providing information on efforts in the field of education, Lula said that 1.8 million full-time education places have been created since 2023 and that the goal is to expand this model across the country in the coming period. Lula said full-time education provides children with opportunities in sports, arts and culture.

Lula said the proportion of schools connected to the internet in line with appropriate educational standards had risen from 44 percent to 74.5 percent. He also said school meals had once again become a priority. Lula stated that meals are provided to 40 million students in 146,000 schools and that the resources allocated per student have been increased by an average of 55 percent.

Commenting on the importance of education policies, Lula said: “Education is not an expense, but an investment.” The Brazilian President concluded: “The real question that should always be asked is: What has been the cost to the country of not investing earlier?”
