Leyen: Russia must show readiness to support a ceasefire
Brussels, March 15 (Hibya) – European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen met with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
European Commission President Leyen thanked UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer for hosting the leaders' meeting.
Reiterating support for achieving a ceasefire in Ukraine, Leyen stated: "Now, Russia must show its readiness to support a ceasefire that will lead to a just and lasting peace. In the meantime, we will continue supporting the strengthening of Ukraine and its Armed Forces in line with our 'hedgehog strategy'."
Leyen also noted that through ReArm Europe, Europe will increase its defense spending to bolster its defense efforts.
