Lazzarini: Israel's New Measures Further Undermine Palestinians' Future
Gaza, February 11 (Hibya) – Philippe Lazzarini, the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), stated that Israel’s new steps are paving the way for the rapid expansion of settlements in the West Bank.
UNRWA Commissioner-General Lazzarini reacted to Israel's new measures regarding the West Bank. Lazzarini stated that these steps open the way for accelerated settlement expansion and further weaken Palestinians’ future.
Lazzarini said in his statement, “Israel’s new measures open the way for accelerated settlement expansion in the West Bank and further undermine Palestinians' future.”
He emphasized that this situation is a “recipe for more control, despair, and violence” and that the decisions made represent a new blow to international law.
Lazzarini added that these steps create dangerous precedents that could have global consequences.
