Lahbib: Nearly 240 million people depend on humanitarian aid
Brussels, October 9 (Hibya) – European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib stated that approximately 240 million people worldwide need humanitarian assistance to survive, emphasizing the need to protect aid workers, increase funding and remove barriers to humanitarian access.

Pointing out that aid workers are being targeted, funding is declining and access to humanitarian assistance is increasingly obstructed, Lahbib outlined three priorities for stronger, faster and more effective humanitarian operations: protecting aid workers, ensuring the effective implementation of operations and strengthening partnerships.
