Kallas: No woman or girl should have to live in fear
Brussels, 25 November (Hibya) – The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, stated that on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, she and the EU Foreign Ministers called for an end to all forms of violence.
In her statement, Kallas emphasized that there is no place for gender-based violence in a free and equal society.
“No woman or girl should have to live in fear,” Kallas said, adding:
“On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, together with the EU Foreign Ministers, we call for an end to all forms of violence and reaffirm every woman’s right to live safely and with dignity. Orange is the color of breaking silence, rejecting indifference, and demanding accountability.”
