Israel’s National Security Council conducted situation assessment
Jerusalem, April 30 (Hibya) – Under the instructions of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s National Security Council conducted a situation assessment to advance international aid efforts.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the National Security Council held a situation assessment aimed at facilitating international assistance, as directed by Netanyahu.
The statement noted that, led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an agreement was reached for three Canadair firefighting aircraft from Italy and North Macedonia to arrive in Israel as soon as possible.
Foreign Minister Gideon Saar stated that over the past few hours, he had a series of phone calls with counterparts from Argentina, France, Italy, the UK, Spain, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Croatia, Greece, Cyprus, Azerbaijan, and North Macedonia to request aerial support for combating forest fires near Jerusalem.
Saar thanked all countries that pledged assistance and those currently reviewing the requests with great willingness: “Israel is fortunate to have true friends standing by in times of need. We also thank everyone who offered help.”
