Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made statements regarding the meetings that took place in January 2025 and the individuals involved in this process.

Drawing attention to those who coordinated the meetings, Netanyahu said: “In January 2025, Yair Lapid met with the families of the abducted and with Qatari representatives. The person who helped them and coordinated the meeting is none other than Potlik, whom we know from the Qatarpike affair.”

Continuing his criticism of the opposition, Netanyahu added: “So the claim is that Potlik, who arranged the meeting for Gantz, Lapid, and the families of the hostages, is the same person who is allegedly a ‘foreign agent’ and who is barred from meeting or working with others on the grounds of ‘espionage and treason’?”

Netanyahu concluded his remarks by saying: “How hypocritical it is for the left to accuse Yonatan Urich of treason because of his connections with Potlik, while their own leaders also had ties to the same person. Hypocrisy is crying out to the skies.”
