Israeli President Isaac Herzog issued a condolence message following the death of Chaim Yavin, one of the founders of Israeli television and a recipient of the Israel Prize.

Expressing his sorrow, Herzog said, "We received with deep sadness the news of the passing of Chaim Yavin, one of the founders of Israeli television, an Israel Prize laureate, and a man known for decades as 'Mr. Television'."

Referring to Yavin's professional career and approach to broadcasting, Herzog said, "For more than four decades, Chaim accompanied the citizens of Israel through the moments that shaped our national life, demonstrating professionalism, responsibility, and statesmanship, becoming an inseparable part of Israeli media."

Highlighting Yavin's legacy, Herzog concluded his statement by saying, "His voice and face became synonymous with the defining events in the country's history, leaving a profound mark on Israeli media and public culture."
