Tehran, March 16 (Hibya) - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei published a memorial message on the occasion of the 37th anniversary of the Halabja Massacre.

In his message, Baghaei stated: "Thirty-seven years ago, on a day like today, the people of Halabja were targeted in a chemical attack with technical and technological assistance from the United States and the support of some European countries. Iranians, especially the people of Sardasht, were among those who suffered chemical attacks during Saddam’s eight-year war, and they understand the pain of the people of Halabja."
On March 16, 1988, during the Iran-Iraq war, chemical weapons used in the Halabja Massacre caused the deaths of many civilians.
