Greek Foreign Minister Gerapetritis to visit New York
Athens, January 27 (Hibya) – The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Greek Foreign Minister Yorgos Gerapetritis will visit New York from January 27 to 31, 2026.
According to a statement from the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Minister Gerapetritis will pay an official visit to New York between January 27 and 31, 2026.
The statement noted that on Wednesday, January 28, at 09:00, Gerapetritis will meet with the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict, Vanessa Frazier.
It was also stated that, within the framework of Greece’s non-permanent membership of the United Nations Security Council for the 2025–2026 term, Gerapetritis will deliver a speech at an open Security Council session on the Middle East at 10:00 the same day, and will meet with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at 15:30.
In addition, Minister Gerapetritis will be the keynote speaker at an event hosted by the US-based think tank Council on Foreign Relations on January 28.
It was shared that on Thursday, January 29, at 12:30, Gerapetritis will participate in a roundtable meeting titled “From the High Seas to the Consumer: Maritime Trade and the Security of the Global Economy,” and will also hold meetings with representatives of the Greek diaspora as part of his visit.
