Ghebreyesus: WHO suspends its operations in Saada province
Geneva, February 11 (Hibya) – The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, announced that WHO has suspended its operations in Saada province.
The WHO Director-General, Ghebreyesus, described the death of a World Food Programme (WFP) colleague in detention in Yemen as "heartbreaking and horrific".
Ghebreyesus stated that WHO has suspended its operations in Saada province until the safety of its colleagues is ensured. He added: "The health needs in Yemen are extremely serious, and we are committed to serving everyone in need."
