Ghebreyesus: UNRWA is the largest healthcare provider in Gaza
Geneva, January 9 (Hibya) - WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) is the largest healthcare provider in Gaza.
WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus emphasized that UNRWA is the largest healthcare provider in Gaza.
He noted that with around 1,000 healthcare workers, UNRWA provides more than 16,000 medical consultations daily, including childhood vaccinations, maternal health services, malnutrition screenings, and mental health support.
"No other institution can achieve this scale. Banning UNRWA will only deepen the suffering of people who need life-saving care."
