Ghebreyesus: "People living with HIV have contributed a lot to the world through their activism"
DEREN KOCAMANOĞLU-01.12.2023-HİBYA-World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has stated that people living with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) or affected by it have contributed a lot to the world through their activism.
Ghebreyesus emphasized that the efforts of affected communities fighting for HIV prevention, testing, and treatment tools have enabled 30 million people to access antiretroviral therapy and helped prevent an unknown number of infections. He also stressed that they stand alongside communities in the fight to end the threat of AIDS to public health by 2030.
