Gerapetritis: A New Era in US–Greece–Korea Trilateral Cooperation
Washington, February 26 (Hibya) - Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis stated that a new era has begun in US–Greece–Korea relations.
Greek Foreign Minister Gerapetritis noted that US–Greece–Korea relations have entered a new phase, emphasizing that the Greece–US partnership, which has long progressed on a defense basis, has moved into a new stage in the fields of economic diplomacy, energy, artificial intelligence, and shipbuilding.
Drawing attention to the recent focus on the Vertical Energy Corridor aimed at decoupling Europe from Russian energy, Gerapetritis said, “Today we see the opportunities offered by the partnership between ONEX and Hanwha.”
Gerapetritis stressed that the recently announced US Maritime Action Plan represents a new opening that enables foreign shipyards to support the construction of commercial and military vessels for the United States, and that cooperation with reliable allies such as Greece and South Korea is a decisive step toward revitalizing US shipbuilding.
Describing the agreement as “win-win,” Gerapetritis said, “Looking ahead, the potential of US–Greece–Korea trilateral alignment is immense. As stated in the agreement, ‘Today is a great beginning and it is built for implementation.’ I congratulate all parties for their vision, hard work, and determination for a safer and more prosperous future.”
