Fletcher: Typhoon Sinlaku affected more than 34,000 people
New York, May 2 (Hibya) – United Nations Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher drew attention to the humanitarian situation in Micronesia, which was hit by Typhoon Sinlaku.
United Nations Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher announced that resources had been allocated for emergency relief efforts.
Referring to the effects of the typhoon, Fletcher said: “Typhoon Sinlaku hit Micronesia, damaged critical infrastructure and affected more than 34,000 people.”
Sharing details of the financial support provided, Fletcher said: “I have allocated $1 million from the United Nations Central Emergency Response Fund CERF for urgent life-saving assistance, including water, shelter and basic support.”
