Explosion at explosives factory in Brazil: Nine dead
Stockholm, August 13 (Hibya) - An explosion that occurred yesterday morning at an explosives factory in the Brazilian city of Curitiba killed nine people. Seven injured people were taken to the hospital, and it is believed that another nine have also died. The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
The explosion happened early in the morning in downtown Curitiba, in the state of Paraná. Authorities do not believe it was the result of a criminal act, but the cause is still being investigated.
The destruction covered an area within a 1.5-kilometer radius of the factory, and nearby buildings were also damaged.
Yesterday, a large-scale search operation was launched for survivors, including the use of search dogs. By the end of the day, six men and three women were still missing, and authorities said they did not expect to find them alive.
