European Parliament approves new financial aid package for Egypt and Jordan
Brussels, April 1 (Hibya) – Members of the European Parliament approved two proposals to grant loans of €500 million to Jordan and €4 billion to Egypt.
Given Egypt’s critical economic and financial situation and its role as a key stabilizing presence in an increasingly volatile region, support was proposed. The Parliament approved the proposal.
For Jordan, an additional financial package was announced to help the country address current financial and other challenges, support structural reforms, and assist with fiscal consolidation efforts. This proposal was also approved by the Parliament.
