EU sends integration message to the Western Balkans
Brussels, May 12 (Hibya) - European Union (EU) Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos stated that the integration of the Western Balkans into the European Union should be accelerated, drawing attention to the importance of greater alignment in the Single Market, energy, and digital areas.
European Union (EU) Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos emphasized that Europe’s security is directly linked to stability in the Western Balkans.
Kos thanked Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár, who hosted the Friends of the Western Balkans Ministerial Meeting in Bratislava, saying: "Europe’s security is inseparable from stability in the Western Balkans".
At the meeting, practical steps to support the progress of Western Balkan countries in their European Union membership processes were discussed.
In this context, plans to further integrate candidate countries into the Single Market, energy market, digital policies, and transport networks were on the agenda.
Kos stated that Slovakia is an important partner in this process.
