Estonian Parliament approved participation in Special Tribunal for Ukraine
Tallinn, February 11 (Hibya) - Estonia became the first country to officially approve participation in the Special Tribunal's governing board through its parliament; the aim is to ensure international accountability for Russia's violations in Ukraine.
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna announced that the Estonian parliament, Riigikogu, passed a law approving participation in the governing board of the Special Tribunal for crimes committed against Ukraine.
Tsahkna stated that Estonia is the first country officially ready to support the tribunal's activities.
The minister said, "As Russia's brutal attacks continue, the international community must increase pressure to ensure accountability for all violations of international law. Delayed justice only feeds more oppression."
Estonia also called on other international partners to begin the tribunal's work without delay.
