Dar: Contacts continue for sailors
Islamabad, May 8 (Hibya) - Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced that they are continuing diplomatic contacts to ensure the safe return of Pakistani and Iranian sailors aboard ships seized by United States (US) authorities.
During his meeting with Vivian Balakrishnan, Dar said, “I requested Singapore’s support regarding the welfare of 11 Pakistani and 20 Iranian sailors and the facilitation of their return to their countries.”
Stating that they are also in coordination with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Dar said Pakistan is ready to support the safe return of Iranian citizens to their country.
Dar said, “We are in close coordination with US authorities and other officials to ensure the safety, welfare and earliest possible return of our citizens.”
