Costa: Lasting peace is impossible without justice
Brussels, October 22 (Hibya) - European Council President Antonio Costa congratulated the International Criminal Court on winning the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought.
European Council President Antonio Costa congratulated the International Criminal Court and its officials on being awarded the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought. Costa said the award sends a strong message about international law, the fight against impunity and accountability for serious international crimes, adding that the European Union would continue supporting the court.
Costa said: "Lasting peace is impossible without justice and accountability."
