Canada and Ghana sign letter of intent to strengthen economic cooperation
Ottawa, October 26 (Hibya) - Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand announced that a letter of intent aimed at enhancing economic cooperation was signed during her meeting with Ghanaian Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa in Ottawa.
Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand stated in a post on her social media account that Ghana plays an important role in maintaining stability in West Africa and is becoming an increasingly important economic partner for Canada.
Anand noted that, as the two countries approach the 70th anniversary of their diplomatic relations, expanding trade and investment would create new opportunities under Canada's Africa Strategy. She added that the meeting addressed Ghana's leadership in regional security, their longstanding cooperation in peacekeeping and their shared commitment to multilateralism.
Anand emphasized that there was significant potential to further strengthen the existing cooperation between the two countries in the coming years.
