European markets showed a calm and selling-biased outlook during the week's trading day. UK and Italian stock markets ended the day lower, while the STOXX 600 and the German and French indices closed unchanged at flat levels.

In the UK, the FTSE index lost 0.21 percent, falling to 10,750.11 points. In Italy, the FTSE MIB index declined 0.20 percent to 53,583.61 points.

The STOXX 600 index, which reflects the overall state of European markets, ended the day at 657.86 points.

In Germany, the DAX index closed the day at 26,440.31 points, while France's CAC index finished at 8,636.80 points, unchanged at a flat (UNCH) level.
