Budrys: Russia responds to calls for peace with attacks
Vilnius, May 14 (Hibya) - Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys stated that Russia’s intense attacks on Ukraine continue despite calls for peace and called for increased sanctions against Moscow.
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Budrys made statements regarding Russia’s attacks on Ukraine.
Budrys stated that a total of 1,623 aerial attack elements, including 56 missiles and more than 1,500 drones, were used within two days, adding that this was the Kremlin’s response to calls for a ceasefire and peace.
Arguing that Russia openly disregards diplomatic initiatives and has intensified attacks against civilians in Ukraine, Budrys described the current situation as “an escalation of terror.”
Budrys said that Russia only responds to the language of force and pressure, calling for tougher sanctions against Moscow, accelerated delivery of air defense systems and military support to Ukraine, and full accountability for Russia’s crimes of aggression.
