Brazilian President Lula da Silva calls for climate action at COP30
Santa Marta, November 20 (Hibya) – Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva called for global cooperation in addressing the climate crisis.
Lula da Silva stated that during COP30, held in Belém, he held a series of meetings with representatives from European, African and Global South countries, as well as negotiators, scientists and civil society organizations.
Emphasizing that combating climate change is a shared responsibility, Lula da Silva said: “Caring for the climate means preserving the existence of planet Earth. Fighting climate change is a collective duty and everyone must be mobilized.”
President Lula added that Brazil’s hosting of COP30 is an important indicator of the country’s commitment to environmental policies.
