The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, received the UN Deputy Secretary-General and High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, Miguel Angel Moratinos.

Moratinos expressed his gratitude to the Azerbaijani President and government for their continuous support of the UN Alliance of Civilizations and their contributions to achieving its international goals.

Aliyev emphasized that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to cooperation with the UN Alliance of Civilizations and will continue to support its efforts.

He noted that the issues on the Alliance’s agenda perfectly align with Azerbaijan’s policy, which actively promotes dialogue between civilizations and cultures on a global scale.

The head of state also highlighted the importance of joint events organized in Baku in collaboration between Azerbaijan and the UN Alliance of Civilizations.
