Azerbaijani President Aliyev met with IEA Executive Director Birol
Baku, March 13 (Hibya) - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with the Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA), Fatih Birol.
President Ilham Aliyev awarded Fatih Birol the Friendship Medal for his support of Azerbaijan's presidency at COP29, his efforts to promote global climate change initiatives, and his effective cooperation.
Fatih Birol, in return, expressed great pride in receiving the Friendship Medal and emphasized Azerbaijan's important role as a reliable partner in Europe's energy security.
The meeting also involved discussions on global energy issues.
