Australian Foreign Minister Wong met with New Zealand counterpart Peters
Canberra, May 23 (Hibya) – Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong met with New Zealand Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Winston Peters in the city of Adelaide.
The meeting focused on enhancing the protection of the Pacific region in an uncertain global environment and strengthening regional institutions.
Following the meeting, Minister Wong stated: "Australia has no closer partner than New Zealand. Today, I met with Mr. Peters to discuss how we can better protect our region by building stronger partnerships in the Pacific and strengthening regional institutions."
Wong emphasized that the strategic cooperation between the two countries is of critical importance for regional stability and prosperity.
