Anand: This mechanism will help hold Russia accountable
Ottawa, May 11 (Hibya) - Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand announced that Canada is the first non-European country to sign the convention establishing an International Compensation Commission for Ukraine, stating that Russia must be held responsible for the destruction caused by the war.

Commenting on the decision, Anand said, “Canada has become the first non-European country to sign the Convention establishing an International Compensation Commission for Ukraine.”
Referring to sanctions to be applied against Russia, Anand said, “This international mechanism will help hold Russia accountable for the destruction and suffering caused by its illegal war.”
