Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said in a post on X: “The Mexican Navy informed me that 13 people tragically lost their lives in the interoceanic train accident.”

According to Sheinbaum, 98 people were also injured in the crash, 36 of whom are receiving hospital treatment.

The president wrote: “I instructed the Minister of the Navy and the Deputy Interior Minister for Human Rights to go to the scene and personally attend to the families.”

Search and rescue operations are continuing at full speed at the accident site in the southern state of Oaxaca. The Ministry of the Navy announced that 360 naval units, 20 vehicles, four ambulances, three ambulance helicopters and a tactical drone have been deployed.

The cause of the derailment has not yet been determined.

The rail line, known as the Intercontinental Train, was put into service in 2023 during the tenure of the country’s former president and is part of a larger project aimed at modernizing rail connectivity in the Tehuantepec region, linking Mexico’s Pacific port of Salina Cruz with Coatzacoalcos on the Gulf coast.
