Von der Leyen: We propose strengthening Frontex
Brussels, October 27 (Hibya) - European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced a proposal to strengthen the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, Frontex, to protect the borders of the European Union.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that Europe would act decisively to protect its borders. Von der Leyen explained that they aim to strengthen Frontex's capabilities so that the agency can provide support to member states wherever and whenever needed.
Von der Leyen also noted that the proposal covers return procedures and aims to ensure that Frontex has the powers and capabilities necessary to adapt to changing circumstances.
