U.S. dollar edged higher
Washington, February 17 (Hibya) – The U.S. dollar gained value late yesterday.
According to CCTV, the U.S. dollar strengthened late on Monday. The dollar index, which measures the value of the greenback against six major currencies, rose 0.15 percent to 97.066 at 15:00 (2000 GMT).
In late trading in New York, the euro fell to $1.1854 from $1.1872 in the previous session, while the British pound declined to $1.3632 from $1.3650 in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar rose to 153.49 Japanese yen, up from 152.78 yen in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar increased from 0.7679 Swiss francs to 0.7692 Swiss francs and from 1.3611 Canadian dollars to 1.3635 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar also climbed from 8.9272 Swedish kronor to 8.9412 Swedish kronor.
