Turkey’s National Football Team secures play-off spot
Bursa, 15 November (Hibya) – Turkey’s National Football Team defeated Bulgaria 2–0 in their fifth match in Group E of the UEFA qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Turkey’s National Team faced Bulgaria at home in their fifth Group E match of the 2026 World Cup European Qualifiers.
At Atatürk Sports Complex Matlı Stadium, in the 18th minute of the match refereed by Nicolas Walsh, Hakan Çalhanoğlu scored from the penalty spot to give Turkey a 1–0 lead.
In the 20th minute, Abdülkerim Bardakcı of Turkey received a yellow card.
In the 40th minute, Arda Güler received a yellow card.
In the 64th minute, Bulgaria’s Martin Georgiev received a yellow card.
In the 84th minute, Bulgaria’s Atanas Chernev scored an own goal. Score: 2–0.
In the 89th minute, İsmail Yüksek received a yellow card.
The match ended with Turkey’s 2–0 victory.
Turkey will play their final group match away against Spain on Tuesday, 18 November.
