Tsahkna: Russia will pay for the damage exceeding 500 billion euros
Tallinn, 3 December (Hibya) – Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna described the European Union’s proposal to use 210 billion euros’ worth of frozen Russian assets as collateral for a loan to be provided to Ukraine as “a real breakthrough”. He stated that Estonia has been working toward such a solution since the beginning of the war initiated by Russia.

Tsahkna said, “Russia has caused more than 500 billion euros in damage, and Russia will pay for it,” stressing that this step puts Ukraine in a strong position to win.
He added, “We must act now and act together; I look forward to EU leaders supporting this proposal.”
