Tajani sends congratulatory message to German Chancellor Merz
Rome, March 23 (Hibya) - Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, congratulating Germany’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU) on its election victory in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, drew attention to the rise of the European People’s Party (EPP) across the continent and to the 50th anniversary celebrations to be held in Rome in April.
Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani made assessments regarding the election results in Germany and developments in European politics.
Referring to the result achieved by Germany’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU), Tajani said: “With the Christian Democratic Union of Germany’s historic 31 percent victory, it has returned to victory in Rhineland-Palatinate after 35 years. I congratulate my friend and Chancellor, Germany’s Prime Minister Friedrich Merz.”
Describing the main pillars of the success as “Education, economy, security and health: the winning formula,” Tajani used the following expressions regarding the People’s Party’s position across Europe:
“The People’s Party is consolidating its leadership across Europe. In April, we will gather in Rome to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the European People’s Party with a major event.”
