Spanish PM Sanchez: The law stands above algorithms
Madrid, 19 November (Hibya) – Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced that Meta will testify before the Congress due to allegations of violating the privacy of millions of users.
Sanchez emphasized that in Spain, the law is above any algorithm.
He stated that the protection of personal rights and freedoms is one of the state's fundamental responsibilities, adding: “Anyone who violates our rights and freedoms will pay the price — impunity will not be tolerated.”
Sanchez also reminded that digital platforms are not exempt from responsibility and noted that user privacy will be strictly safeguarded.
