According to CCTV, as of Monday morning, states of emergency were in effect in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. In some areas of these states, as well as in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, snowfall exceeded 60 centimeters.

New Jersey imposed a travel ban on non-essential vehicles on streets, bridges, and highways starting at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, with limited exceptions. The ban, which was initially scheduled to be lifted at 7:00 a.m. Monday, was extended until noon due to adverse weather conditions.

New York City also declared a state of emergency Sunday night and banned non-essential travel. Although the ban was lifted Monday evening, Mayor Zohran Mamdani said the city remained under a “dangerous travel advisory” overnight.

Due to the blizzard, transportation came to a near standstill across New Jersey and New York City. NJ Transit suspended all train and bus services, while some subway and bus lines in New York City were halted; the Long Island Rail Road was completely shut down.

Additionally, as of 10:00 a.m. Monday, more than 5,500 flights had been canceled nationwide, with hundreds more delayed. The storm also left approximately 400,000 households in the northeastern United States without electricity.
