Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlic Radman said he and his Slovenian counterpart had reviewed economic and political relations between the two countries and confirmed their determination to resolve outstanding issues through constructive dialogue.

Outlining the agenda of the meeting, Radman said, “Today I met with my Slovenian counterpart Tone Kajzer. We discussed bilateral relations, economic cooperation, outstanding issues and current European and foreign policy matters.”

Emphasizing the strategic partnership between the two countries, Radman said, “Slovenia is one of our most important partners in many areas. We confirmed that we are ready to resolve outstanding issues through continuous and more intensive dialogue; however, these issues should not prevent the further strengthening of cooperation between Croatia and Slovenia.”

Addressing regional stability and geopolitical dynamics, Radman said, “We paid particular attention to EU enlargement and the Western Balkans, whose stability is extremely important for Europe’s security and stability. Complex geopolitical conditions, numerous common interests, and the fact that we are neighboring countries linked by EU and NATO membership require continuous exchanges of views and close cooperation.”

Radman concluded his statement by saying, “Croatia wants and is ready to continue developing close partnership relations with Slovenia. I firmly believe that through continuous dialogue, constructive proposals and initiatives, and commitment to good-neighborly relations, we can further develop our good cooperation.”
